Elder: Steven Wilfert

Pastor Steve has been with us for nearly two decades and holds degrees from Southeastern Bible College (BA), Faraston Theological Seminary (MA T.S.), and Columbia Evangelical Seminary (D.Min.).

He and his wife, Cheryl, have been married for over 35 years, have three adult married children who serve in various churches on the North Shore of Boston and have two grandchildren.

Pastor Steve enjoys outreach ministry in the city of Lynn, reading a wide variety of books and since 1992 has taken teams of adults and students to Central America and Reservation lands to build homes for those in need.

Pastor Steve also spends time when he can rebuilding an old 1965 Mustang.

Associate Pastor of Young Adults and Families

Rev. Nicholas Lutzo

Nick is from Abingdon, VA, a small town in southwest Virginia. He and his wife, Andrea, have two children, Colin and Addison.

He holds degrees from Southeastern Bible College (BA) and Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary (MA Th).

Nick served as youth intern at Shades Mountain Independent Church in Birmingham. He also engaged in homeless ministry there with Brother Bryan Mission. While at Gordon-Conwell, Nick served as Director of Youth Ministries here at ASBC. After graduation, Nick served as Youth Pastor at Bethel Alliance Church in Bethel, ME for four years. Nick now serves as our Associate Pastor of Young Adults and Families.

He is a fan of the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Chicago Cubs. Nick watches a lot of YouTube videos, Netflix, and knows way more than anyone should about all things Seinfeld.

“And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.” (Philippians 1:6)



Richard Hahn

Elder: Richard Hahn

Dick has faithfully served as an Elder at Austin Square Baptist Church for the past 23 years. He and his wife of 23 years, Diane (Del), live in Peabody, MA.

He graduated with a B.R.E. from Ontario Bible College (now Tyndale University) in Canada. Dick brings a loving, caring personality to the ministry, with an emphasis on counseling.

Dick has served in various capacities over the years. In the past, he has served as youth leader, a deacon, and has taught Sunday school from K-Adult. He has also lead a young adults group, participated in nursing home ministry, and done outreach to refugee Cambodians.

Dick currently works full time in the medical field.

Favorite authors: C.S. Lewis, Martyn Lloyd Jones, Jonathan Edwards, Alfred Edersheim, Amy Carmichael, Elizabeth Elliot, John Bunyan, and most all of the Banner of Truth publications.


Michael DeAngelis

Michael DeAngelisMichael has been an Elder since 2009. He serves the church in teaching, preaching and administrative roles. He also leads the strategic vision plan process and helps oversee VBS and our Communications Committee.

Michael has an empathetic ministry to those struggling with illnesses. He received kidney and pancreas transplants in early 2015, enabling him to return to fuller service. He holds two masters degrees in nutrition and works in the communications field.

Michael, his wife Susan, and have teenage twins, Zachary and Samantha, and live in Wakefield. He unwinds by singing, cooking (and eating), coaching soccer, and enjoying time with his family.

“Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.” (James 1:2-4)
